PRIVATE ESCAPE 7 NIGHTS / 8 DAYS
Travel around Rome and the Abruzzo
A match made in heaven
Niko Romito exclusively crafted this daring dual itinerary, drawing from his experiences in Rome - the city where he once studied, and his roots in the Abruzzo region, where he keeps exploring gastronomic innovation. Bridging the ascetic traditions of the Abruzzo mountains with the vibrant energy of the Eternal City, this journey blends the main influences of the visionary triple Michelin-starred Chef.
In the breathtaking landscape of the Appennine Mountains, the ancient vineyards of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo yield an intense red wine infused with floral and spicy notes. Here, Niko Romito showcases his culinary talent with a simplicity reminiscent of the region’s pastoral heritage. Summers scorch and winters freeze, offering a stunning vista, with the towering peak of Gran Sasso d’Italia reaching 9,550 feet high. It's remarkable to think that Costa dei Trabbochi’s beaches are just 35 miles away!
Picturesque stone villages and medieval fortresses inspire Niko Romito’s cuisine as much as the quaint seaside towns of the Adriatic Coast and their briny sea breeze. All along the Costa dei Trabocchi, traditional fisherman’s homes perched on stilts have become trendy seafood restaurants, offering a taste of the maritime essence of Abruzzo.
Two-hours away, in Rome, a completely different atmosphere awaits! The rugged wilderness of Gran Sasso National Park gradually gives way to the domes and palaces of the historic city-museum.
Rome is what holds together all the influences of Niko Romito. It's imperial, papal, and a hub of art and power: the ideal setting for the Chef's Spazio concept restaurant, with a menu of gourmet dishes meant to be shared with friends. A lighthearted cuisine that perfectly fits the Eternal City’s vibes.
From Antiquity to today, Rome offers an array of legendary spots to explore : be your best Audrey Hepburn on the steps of Piazza di Spagna from Roman Holiday; wander along the stunning Piazza Navona or in the bohemian area of Campo de’ Fiori; live out your own Dolce Vita near the Trevi Fountain; gaze up at the frescoes of the Sistine Chapel. The Eternal City is a living museum, ready for you to discover it at your own pace.
We cannot thank the Michelin-starred chef enough for sharing all his tips, for an exclusive itinerary between Rome and the Abruzzo. An elegant journey into a timeless and singular Italy.
“Rome is a city unlike any other. A giant museum that feels like a living room you’re visiting on tiptoes.” - Alberto Sordi
