PRIVATE ESCAPE 4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS
Barolo, truffles and hilltop villages
Vineyards as far as the eye can see and small medieval villages where time seemed to have stopped, among the sweet curves of the hills. The region is a dream for any amateur of gastronomy and wine, as well as curious travellers looking for unique places and preserved scenery.
For experienced wine lovers, seven different DOCG wines are produced in the “tenute” or “cantine” (the vineyard domains) of the Langhe, which rank amongst the best PDOs of the Italian peninsula. The Piedmont vineyards are protected with the Unesco World Heritage list.
As for gastronomy amateurs, they will love the prodigious white Alba truffle from the Langhe, which is an attraction for food-lovers around the world, as well as the Bra village, centre for the Slow Food movement, a reference in quality and well-minded food.
To top it all, the beautiful landscapes and amazing architecture of palaces, medieval streets, churches and castles of the region make it a rich cultural spot.
Isn’t it a dream to combine gastronomy, art and lifestyle in the same journey? Especially when its curator is the two Michelin-starred Chef Michelangelo Mammoliti!
“All I see are hills, they fill the sky and the earth” wrote Cesare Pavese about the Langhe. Its castles, small medieval towns and churches nestle in this landscape of infinite hilltops.
