Le canal de la Guidecca, un voyage Hiddeniste entre Venise et les collines du Prosecco

PRIVATE ESCAPE 6 NIGHTS / 7 DAYS

Trip to the Prosecco Hills and Venice

In between vineyards and the Lagoon

Veneto is much more than just Venice! The Unesco-listed Prosecco hills are dotted with charming villages, medieval castles, and terraced vineyards – the ciglioni. This is where frizzante and spumante, with their delicate bubbles, are crafted – often featured on Michelin-starred menus. As you approach La Serenissima, the Palladian villas and the city of Treviso come into view. Finally, you reach Venice and its enchanting islands – the realm of Chiara Pavan.

Less than an hour's drive from Venice Marco Polo Airport, north of Treviso, you’ll find some of Italy's most breathtaking landscapes: the Prosecco Hills. This region, the birthplace of one of the most famous Italian wines, was designated a Unesco World Heritage site in 2019 for its terraced vineyards, shaped by generations of winemakers. The slopes are so steep that agricultural machinery can't be used.

Traveling along the Strada del Prosecco is a journey of cultural, culinary, and wine discovery, perfect for any epicurean. Between Valdobbiadene and Conegliano lies the heart of Prosecco production, especially in the Cartizze hills.

Dozens of producers, from major exporters to small independent winemakers, grow their grapes on narrow terraced vineyards (the ciglioni), creating a stunning green mosaic. Tastings at these estates include tranquillo (still), frizzante (sparkling), and spumante (fully sparkling) varieties.

Charming villages crowned by castles, Palladian villas, vineyards, and visits to winemakers make your stay in the Prosecco Hills truly sparkling.

Daily life in the Venice Lagoon, a Hiddenist trip to Italy

Passing through Treviso, known as the "little Venice" of Veneto, you’ll arrive in the City of Canals for a unique experience in Venice curated by Chiara Pavan. Hiddenist invites you to venture beyond St. Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge, exploring hidden gems like Mazzorbo, Torcello, and Burano, where inhabitants uphold age-old Venetian traditions.

Or take Venissa, Chiara Pavan's territory on the island of Mazzorbo, where a timeless atmosphere prevails. Like the market gardeners of Sant’Erasmo who preserved unique vegetables such as the small purple artichoke from disappearing, the owner of Venissa – famous Prosecco producer - revived the centuries-old Dorona di Venezia vineyard, which was nearly lost to time.

This trip through the Veneto region and Venice is designed by an eco-conscious chef committed to preserving the fragile City of Canals with her innovative and sustainable cooking.

Before your stay in Venice, Hiddenist invites you to a gourmet stroll through the Unesco-listed Prosecco Hills and Treviso, the "little Venice" of Veneto.
